Viewing

For many formats, you see a file's contents as soon as you select it: the Preview pane on the right shows images and RAW, video and music with a player, PDFs and documents, spreadsheets, code with syntax highlighting, 3D models, fonts, archive contents, and program details. For a folder, the pane counts its files, their total size, and which types take up the space; for a drive, it shows how full the drive is.
