Navigation
You move between folders with the Folders pane on the left, the address bar and the buttons next to it. Bookmarks, expanded folders, and the current folder and file are kept between launches.
- “Folder panes”: Bookmarks and Computer, USB drives, phones and cameras, working with bookmarks, keyboard use.
- “Archives as folders”: browsing
.zip,.7z,.rarwithout extracting.
Back, forward, up. The buttons to the left of the address bar or Alt+← and Alt+→ move through your browsing history, and Alt+↑ (or Backspace) goes up one level.
After going up, the folder you came from is selected.
Your place in a folder. When you come back to a folder by any route (a bookmark, the tree, history, the address bar), you find it the way you left it: the same file is selected, and the same row is at the top. This works after a restart too. You can turn it off in “Settings” → “File list” (“The same file and scroll position”), and “The same rating and label filter” brings back the filter you left the folder with, too.
The address bar shows the path in parts; click a part to go to that level.
To enter a path, click empty space in the bar or press Ctrl+L (Alt+D), type or paste the path and press Enter; Esc cancels.
The triangle on the right or F4 opens the list of recent folders.
At startup, Wander opens in the last folder, on the same file, with the same scroll position and expanded branches. If the file is gone, a neighboring one is selected. If the folder itself is gone, the nearest parent folder opens; if the folder was on a removable drive that isn't connected now, the working folder opens (“Documents” out of the box). You set the working folder in “Settings” → “Folders and bookmarks”.
