Copying and moving
The clipboard is the system one: what you copy in Wander pastes in other programs, and the other way around. If you paste a file into the same folder it was copied from, a copy named “name (1)” appears next to it.
Text or an image from the clipboard is pasted as a file: Ctrl+V creates Text.txt or Image.png in the folder (for example, from Excel cells or a Snipping Tool screenshot) and offers to rename it right away.
Email attachments and phone files copied in another program come from the system as content rather than as files; Wander can't paste those yet and tells you so.
Wander opens the phone itself as a folder, and you can copy from it directly; see “Phone and camera”.
Dragging with the left mouse button moves files within one drive and copies them between drives. Keys change the action:
- with
Shift, move; - with
Ctrl, copy; - with
Alt, create a shortcut.
If you hold files over a collapsed folder in the Folders pane, it expands. A folder among the files doesn't open this way; to make it open, turn on “Open a folder when a dragged file hovers over it” in “Settings” → “File operations”. Near the window edge, the files scroll by themselves, faster the farther past the edge you go. You can drag folders from the tree too.
Dragging with the right mouse button opens a menu after the drop: copy, move, create shortcuts, plus “Convert” and “My actions”, whose results land right in that folder. The item in bold is what a normal drop would do.
